What I Wish I Knew Before I Became a Health Coach in Australia

Written by Elle Sproll

I used to think being healthy meant ticking the usual boxes:

  • Eat clean

  • Go to the gym

  • Push through stress

  • Sleep later

I was doing all the “right” things—until I was diagnosed with aggressive breast cancer at 33.

I was a marathon runner, thriving in my corporate career, and constantly chasing the next goal. But underneath it all? I was burnt out, inflamed, and disconnected from my body in ways I didn’t even realise.

That experience led me to completely rebuild my habits, my self.. my life—and retrain as a Certified Health Coach in Australia.

Now, I help women across the country recover, reset and reclaim their health—before things fall apart like they did for me.

What Is a Health Coach (and Why Might You Need One)?

Australia health coach

A health coach is someone who helps you close the gap between what you know and what you actually do.

More than that—a great coach helps you shift your mindset, heal your relationship with your body, and build daily routines that feel good, not forced. In short - a great health coach helps you shift your inner landscape so you get to live the life you've always dreamt of.

As a health coach based in Australia, I support women with:

• Energy and fatigue recovery

• Anti-inflammatory eating made simple

• Sleep, stress and nervous system balance

• Peri-menopause, menopause and hormonal side-effects

• Rebuilding confidence after illness, trauma or burnout

• Sustainable habit change without guilt or restriction

• Personal Development and Self-love

Whether you're navigating life post-cancer, managing chronic stress, or simply trying to feel like yourself again—I’ve been there. And I’m here to help.

3 Things I Wish More Women Knew About Health Coaching

1. You don’t need to be “unwell” to benefit.

So many women wait until they’re at rock bottom. But you can start when you’re just tired of surviving on coffee and pushing through.

2. It’s not about rules—it’s about relief.

Coaching isn’t about restriction. It’s about having someone in your corner helping you feel your best.

3. It’s more personal than any plan.

Google can’t give you context. Instagram tips can't help you see what you can't see. Shifting behaviours short-term won't stop you shifting back when your patterns or limiting beliefs kick into gear. A coach gets to know your life, your body, your inner landscape, your triggers—and helps you build something sustainable.
